The Houston Texans have reportedly traded Pro Bowl offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday (March 10).
"Trade: Texans are trading five-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders for a package of picks, sources tell ESPN," Schefter wrote on his X account.
The Commanders will receive Tunsil, 30, who is under contract for two more seasons, and a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft in exchange for third-round and seventh-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft and second-round and fourth-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, according to Schefter. The former Ole Miss standout started in all 17 regular season games and two playoff games for the Texans and is coming off his fifth Pro Bowl appearance, having been selected in each of the past three consecutive seasons, as well as during the 2019 and 2020 seasons.
The Commanders have already made several offseason moves since being defeated by the eventual Super Bowl LIX champion Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game which includes trading for former All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel and signing defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, as well as re-signing linebacker Bobby Wagner and tight ends Zach Ertz and John Bates.
