MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred floated the idea of a major realignment of the divisions which could even eliminate the National and American Leagues in favor of a more regional distribution of teams. While the uproar over such an idea is substantial with many speculating it could never actually become a reality, Dan reminds us that Manfred has a history of making big changes and he very well may be completely serious about attempting to implement this plan.

The Commissioner doesn’t go on the mothership and start talking about the potential to basically turn baseball into the NBA and NHL, because that’s what they have. They have the geographical rivalries there and maybe that’s where baseball is headed. And we know this commissioner is not afraid…”
